8. Is financing available for TIMS or pTIMS?
Yes, the center has arrangements with financing institutions who would be willing to partially finance the study.
(full-time) TIMS
9. Why should I join IIHT for TIMS? I would prefer a degree program.
- TIMS stands for Technology in Infrastructure Management Services.
- Doing the TIMS is comparable to doing a foundation course or A levels or equivalent. The big difference is,
with TIMS, one is trained to be an IT professional and at the same time being prepared for further tertiary
education if one would prefer.
- After completion of TIMS, students will be acceptable for selected
IT diploma and degree programs, with advanced placement, in Malaysian University of Science and
Technology (Malaysia), International Technology University (California, USA) and
Sikim Manipal University (India).
10. How does the employment guarantee work?
When certain conditions are met (pass TIMS and obtain at least 3 of the external IT certifications), we guarantee
that within 4 months, there will be at least one job offer.
11. How can we be so sure of the employment guarantee?
- Many IIHT graduates are hired even before they graduate.
- Great shortage of IMS experts in Malaysia. It is costly and takes time to train IMS personnel.
The equipment to be used for the training is very expensive.
- Many of the IMS experts in Malaysia are foreigners.
- Demand for IMS experts in Malaysia outstrips supply.
12. What are the options available after completion of TIMS?
- To be employed as an IT professional immediately; or
- To continue with acquisition of academic qualifications immediately, e.g. degree in IT; or
- To work before continuing with pursuit of academic qualifications.
pTIMS and short courses
13. Is part-time study available?
Yes, we have the part-time TIMS (pTIMS),
as well as short training courses for individual certifications.
14. How is pTIMS different from TIMS?
- The course contents are identical with the full-time 2 years TIMS program but in a slightly condensed
form as the students are working adults who should have either theoretical or practical (or both) knowledge of IT.
- The program will be conducted in the evenings on work days and on Saturdays.
- Trainees will sit for the same TIMS exams as well as the vendor certifications and at the end of the
program will be awarded the Certificate in TIMS by IIHT. The procedure for taking external certification exams
is the same.

What certifications are included?
While studying for a TIMS certificate, issued by IIHT, which will take 2 years,
a student can also take IT certification exams. The course of study in TIMS covers,
and is closely aligned with, the requirements and syllabuses of the various IT certifications.
