Cisco certifications are well respected in the IT world. Individuals who pass the exams and become certified have demonstrated competence in the practice of computer networking.
There are three tiers of Cisco certifications: associate, professional and expert. Representative certifications from the three tiers are CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) and CCIE (Cisco Certified Internet Expert), respectively. The associate tier is an entry-level tier, whereas the professional tier certifies deeper expertise. The expert tier certifications are much more difficult to obtain, and people with CCIE are rare.
We offer short courses for CCNA regularly, and for the BSCI and BCMSN components of CCNP. In particular, for CCNA (640-802), we offer “Inter-connecting Cisco Networking Devices (ICND) Part 1” and “Inter-connecting Cisco Networking Devices (ICND) Part 2”. Topics include connecting to a WAN; implementing network security; network types; network media; routing and switching fundamentals; the TCP/IP and OSI models; IP addressing; WAN technologies; operating and configuring IOS devices; extending switched networks with VLANs; determining IP routes; managing IP traffic with access lists; establishing point-to-point connections; and establishing Frame Relay connections.
The BSCI (Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks, 642-901) component of CCNP is one of four components of CCNP. It focuses more in-depth on routing protocols than CCNA, and include advanced IP addressing, routing principles, multicast routing, IPv6, manipulating routing updates, configuring basic BGP, configuring EIGRP, OSPF, and IS-IS.
The BCMSN (Building Cisco Multiswitched Networks, 642-812) component of CCNP is another of the four components of CCNP. It focuses more on switching, and includes campus networks, describing and implementing advanced Spanning Tree concepts, VLANs and inter-VLAN routing, high availability concepts and configuration, wireless client access, and access layer voice concepts.
The Cisco short courses are each 1 week long, and include lectures and hands-on lab exercises on Cisco routers and switches. While the above Cisco short courses are regularly scheduled, other Cisco short courses would also be offered from time to time depending on demand and other factors.
Cisco is a large company known for its networking products, including switches and routers.
For groups, on-site training (at the customer location) and/or group discounts are possible. Please contact us for details.
Cisco training is an anchor component of both our TIMS program, and our part-time TIMS program (p-TIMS). Individual short courses for Cisco certifications are also available.
Since IIHT is a Cisco Learning Partner, our Cisco courses are highly effective and recognized.
